Why Pay First?

The Tagline Machine's fees are a small fraction of what most top copywriters (of the Mechanic's caliber) would charge. A customer is getting tremendous value, but in order for the machine to deliver it, that customer has to take a chance and pay 100% upfront for a single service and 50% upfront for multiple services. With rates this low, chasing too many invoices would not be viable.

Is this really a Machine?

Thought you'd never ask. No, it isn't some kind of contextual, semantic logarithm deal that churns out some totally useless lines. There's a bunch of peeps behind the curtain who create great names, logos, taglines and copy like a machine. You can find out more about them here.

What is a "Creative Brief"?

It's a fancy 'industry' way of saying "instructions to copywriter and designer".  TM needs the low down on your brand. Who's it aimed at? Why's it better? How would you describe it in human terms - is it dependable, or a risk-taker, is it youthful or wise? The more detailed and directed your brief the more accurate and efficient the machine will be.

What happens after I fill out the "creative brief" form?

After you click "submit", you'll go to a Paypal Payment page, where you choose your service options. TM prices are way, way below market fees for this kind of work, so in return we ask you pay 100% up front for a single service. TM conducts all its financial transactions through Paypal.

What's a "round"?

When copywriters work on names, or slogans, they offer an array of suggestions. That's a round. Somewhere between 7 and 10 is the average TM round. And we keep working rounds until we find a line you want to use.  The lines are numbered so you can choose which ones get close. That means we can focus on the approaches that fit in your marketing strategy.

Can I get a refund?

No. You're paying for the Machine's professionalism, judgment and creative skills, and we work until we find a line name or logo that you like. There's less chit-chat, a simple brief, and a low, low price to compensate for the up-front payment. We don't waste time. We get the job done.

How quickly do I get my lines?

Rounds are usually delivered in three business days. The quicker you respond with notes, the quicker the next round goes into process.

What about copyright issues?

The Machine is a writer for hire. I work to your brief and you are responsible for copyright, trademark or any other legal issues that arise as a result of your use of the taglines, names, logos or other Tagline Machine output.

What else can the Machine do for my business?

The Tagline Machine is a high quality precision instrument which can handle many more processes. Contact us to get help with videos, web copy and content consultancy.

Do I get a discount if I refer someone?

The Machine is working on a way to fold this in. Stay tuned.

How do I get in touch with the Machine?

Here!

Does the Machine "sign" NDAs?

No it does not. Probably best to go elsewhere if you need one signed before proceeding.

How does the Machine deal with confidential information?

The Tagline Machine can in no way guarantee confidentiality. If you're worried about confidentiality you might want to find someone who can.

You won't use my email address to spam me, will you?

That would be seriously uncool. Not going to happen.

What happens if I submit my brief but don't buy lines?

The Machine will send you one reminder email to see if you had problems or concerns and then leave the rest to you.
